Choose Long or Short depending on the directional hypothesis you want to test. In astro-financial theory, specific planetary ingress events have historically corresponded to bullish or bearish market phases on certain instruments. Begin with Long for most studies, then test Short separately to compare results before drawing conclusions about directional bias.

Select the planet whose zodiac ingress you want to study (e.g., Jupiter entering Aries, Saturn entering Capricorn, Venus entering Taurus). Each planet-sign combination represents a distinct cycle frequency — Jupiter takes approximately 12 years to complete one full zodiac tour, while the Moon completes the cycle in 28 days. Start with slower planets (Jupiter, Saturn) for clearer long-term market correlations.

Choose Tropical if you want to apply Western astro-financial analysis — this system is aligned to Earth's seasons and is the most commonly used in financial astrology research. Choose Sidereal (with automatic Ayanamsa adjustment) if you prefer Vedic astrology principles. The two systems place planetary positions approximately 23–24 degrees apart, so test both on your target market to determine which produces more consistent historical correlations.

Set entry to trigger on a Specific Date (defined day and month, with optional odd/even year filters) or based on the Current Date for live signal generation. Set exit to a Specific Date or a Bar Count (fixed number of bars after entry). The Bar Count exit directly implements Gann's fixed holding-period concept — hold for a defined cycle duration regardless of interim price action.

Enable Stop Loss and Take Profit and define their percentage distances from the entry price. These act as protective boundaries for the holding period strategy — if the market moves significantly against the planetary cycle signal, the stop-loss exits the trade before the full holding period expires. Begin with wider stops (10–15%) to avoid premature exits during initial research phases.

Turn on Trade Levels to display entry, stop-loss, and take-profit lines directly on the chart. Enable Bar Color to color candles by trade state (long = bullish color, short = bearish, flat = neutral). These visualizations allow immediate assessment of how each planetary cycle trade unfolded against the price action — revealing whether market reactions aligned with the celestial timing.

Enable commission modeling and set realistic entry and exit percentages for your market and broker. This is especially important for high-frequency planetary cycles (Moon sign changes occur every 2–3 days) where transaction costs can significantly impact overall performance. All performance metrics in the statistics table will automatically reflect these costs.

Enable the specific alert types you need — Entry for live signal notification, Exit for position close, Stop-Loss and Take-Profit for automated level monitoring. Once activated, the indicator generates trade markers, colored candles, and the statistics table automatically across all historical bars. Review the visual trade sequence before going live to confirm the cycle has produced consistent behavior on your target market.

Analyze the performance table: total trades completed, win rate, maximum/minimum/average returns per trade, and compound equity growth across all planetary cycles. Iterate systematically — test different planets, sign combinations, zodiac types, and holding periods. Document which combinations produce the highest win rates on your specific market.
